Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find you?
HRRO is located at Wye Valley Court, Netherwood Road, Rotherwas Industrial Estate, Hereford, HR2 6JG. Please see the map at the top of this page for more details.
Are you open to everyone?
Yes - all welcome including dogs
Do you have parking?
Yes we have about 30 spaces but if we are full there is a free public carpark just at the end of Netherwood Road (not open on Saturdays)- about 100 metres away from us. Please park in the marked bays and don't park on the roads or on other business's property.
Is there wheelchair access?
Yes - we have a ramp up to the front door, everything is level inside and we have an accessible toilet.
Can I get to you by public transport?
Yes - bus route 78X from the City Bus Station will bring you to Rotherwas and then it's a very short walk to us. Saturday route is slightly different and a slightly longer walk from the Saturday stop.
What were you called before?
Previously we traded as the Herefordshire Community Reuse and Recycling Group but rebranded to become Herefordshire Reuse and Recycling Organisation (HRRO) to signify our new start, new management and our move to Rotherwas.
What are your opening hours?
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 3pm (last entry at 2.30pm).
Can I pay by card?
Yes we accept cash, card payment or we can invoice you for BACS or card payment (if paying by invoice goods cannot be delivered or collected until funds have been received)
What is your exchange/refund policy?
All goods are second hand and are sold as seen - the buyer is urged to inspect them carefully before buying. We only give refunds or exchanges if the goods have an unseen fault which is normally limited to electrical items.
What items do you accept?
We accept a wide variety of household goods but in order to manage our stock we may restrict donations to specific items. We will advise here on our News page and on our Facebook page what we need at a particular time. Please click HERE to see a full list.
Can I drop my donations off?
Please check that we are accepting donations before bringing anything. We need to control stock carefully so may only be accepting specific items at times. We would prefer your donations to be in cardboard boxes or bags-for-life, rather than single use plastic bags or bin bags.
Can you collect furniture that I want to donate?
Yes we can within Herefordshire - but we can only accept furniture which we can reuse or resell so please email us photos of the items and we will advise if we can take them and arrange collection if so. We can only accept clean upholstered furniture that has the fire safety labels attached and mattresses must be clean and in very good condition.
Please note that we only collect from the ground floor and generally only within 5 miles of WVC
Do you deliver? If so, how much does it cost?
We can deliver furniture locally within Herefordshire- to the ground floor only - we charge on a distance basis with delivery of one or two items within the city for £20 - rising to £35 for further flung locations. We can advise delivery costs and book them in at checkout.
Please note delivery is only available to the ground floor - we cannot take items upstairs. If you require delivery upstairs we are more than happy to work with your choice of courier.
You are also welcome to collect your items from Wye Valley Court.
Can I donate electrical goods?
We are limiting electrical goods as we get given so many non-functioning items. Currently we are only accepting lamps, kettles, toasters and microwaves. If you have new electrical items to donate please email us.
Whilst we have trained PAT testers and equipment and are able to test items for safe and legal sale, we don't have the capacity to function test every item. We test all microwaves for emissions. If the item isn't working fully please don't donate it!
Are you a charity?
Yes we are - as of 20th June 2025 we are a registered charity (CIO) under registration number 1213726.
Do you supply free goods to those in need?
Not currently as we have significant overheads with our new building and do not receive any type of funding - so we have to make enough money through sales to cover our costs. Our pricing is however very affordable and if you are referred by one of our partners we offer a discount.
Do you have a referrals process?
We do - please complete our online referrals form on the Referrals page
What are your aims?
We have three aims:
1) To help Herefordshire REDUCE WASTE - by reusing and recycling as many household goods as possible, keeping them out of landfill and protecting the environment.
2) To provide a source of affordable preloved items for those in need, either via Social Services referrals or to the general public via our shop. This aim supports relief from furniture poverty and the cost of living crisis.
3) To EDUCATE the next generation about the importance of sustainability to the environment - we have run workshops for primary age children and are currently consulting with schools to see how best we can support their eco education programmes. We also offer work experience for older children and young adults.
Do you support a Charity?
We are a charity and are delivering our own charitable aims. We do also support other charities by passing donated goods to them - for example we regularly pass donated teddy bears to the Teddy Trust. We also support several local housing and refuge charities.
What do you do with your profits?
We do not aim to make a profit. If there is any surplus after paying our running costs it will be reinvested in the business.
Can I volunteer?

We are also looking for more trustees both specific and generic - so if you have experience in the charity retail, finance, legal sectors or general life experience we'd love to hear from you.

Do you have a waste carrier's registration?
